Hoping I would find someone on here that is either a German resident or a German speaker who is familiar with the VDH rules for registering unverified dogs over there.

I know in the UK we have the UDS and I know how it works. I believe in France they have something similar but before they will let you register them they must be a certain age and meet all health criteria. What is the situation with VDH?

Can you expand a little, what is an 'unverified dog' and what is the UDS?

Is this something to do with the Kennel Club accepting dogs without known background onto the breed register if confirmed by experts to be of the breed to expand the gene pool?

I dont know about VDH & have no idea which breed or type of dog you have in mind.

In germany only the german dobermann club munich can register & issue FCI pedigrees to that breed, if the same rules apply to all dogs I dont know. Also dna testing of both parents is mandatory for Dobermanns in germany before any pedigree can be issued by DV (german dobermann club).

How much that extends to other breeds I have no idea, again what do you mean by 'unverified dog'?........do you suspect it might be a cat in disguise???

Sorry should have been more specific. The UDS is the unverified dog scheme which the UK KC run. More common to numerically small breeds like mine.

In my situation regarding the importation of 2 dogs from their home country which does not have a register for them.

They were born in Germany but the dam was imported in whelp from said home country. So pups as is are not registered. I can of course apply through UDS here to get them verified and registered for which I supply my evidence pedigree information photos of sire and dam etc and then have 2 championship judges go over them to ensure they deem them as acceptable to breed standard.

However what I am trying to find out is if the VDH have a similar scheme....whereby the pups could be first registered in their birth country then I can do an export pedigree and register that way.
