My ridgeback is 6 months old and i was told to feed him 4 times a day until he was 6 months old and then drop to 3 times a day.Do i feed him the same amount as he was getting on 4 times a day or more.I've noticed that some people with ridges are on twice a day by 6 months.what is the right amount?

Hi Johnno. Some people start to reduce on the number of feeds earlier than others so dont worry about what the others are doing, just follow your breeders instructions and you wont go far wrong.

As to how much to feed, as a puppy gets older it also gets bigger and needs more food. As it gets still older it slows down on it's growing and it's food requirements also decrease. You need to monitor his growth, is he putting on too much weight and getting fat? Is his bulk falling away and his ribs showing more than before? These are the signs to look for. The object is to keep him lean fit and healthy.

Regards, John
