Hi everyone, quick question for you. If you have had a litter and only one pup was born via section and the rest natural what do you do about the question on kc site asking if the litter was born by c section? Do you say yes but then the ones born weren't or do you say no but then one would of been. There were 8 pups only one by section!
Thanks

Been through this, my bitch had 7 naturally then one pup just wasn't coming so a vet trip & pup 8 & 9 by c section(both surprisingly still alive). The whole litter classifies as emergency  c section..hope this helps...

They kennel club aren't interested in whether pups are born by 'C' section but WHETHER THE BITCH UNDERWENT A 'C' SECTION.

The rule is about the bitches welfare.

Hi thanks very much that's what I thought, but thought I would just quickly double check before I filled it in.
Cheers

I think they want the reason for the C section, as the KC were under a lot of pressure from the Vet profession to not allow any litters registered after one C section.

As we know an emergency C section can be the result of a malpresentation etc, and a bitch then go on to whelp naturally in subsequent litters.

I would hope that after two Sections no-one would want to risk another litter from a bitch, but sadly I suppose people did or people interested in welfare aspects of breeding thought they did, with some breeds going for elective C sections more and more.
