Afternoon All
I have a bitch who's currently on Day 64 (From 1st Mating, Day 62 from 2nd Mating) who's not showing any classic symptoms of being ready to whelp. She's very sleepy and a lot more chilled out than normal, sitting under the table whilst I work on the laptop etc which is completely out of character for her. My previous 3 bitches litters have gone on Day 63, Day 66 (Singleton) and Day 61., by different bitches to the the one who is due now.
Her temperature seems normal, hovering from 37.3-37.8 for the last week or so. In my other bitches it has always dropped to the mid 36s prior to pup arrival.
How long would you let her go before thinking about calling the vet?
Did you progesterone test her to pinpoint which day she ovulated?
Yeah she was test on the Friday and the results indicated a tuesday mating

So that was a guesstimate at ovulation if Friday tested, advised to mate Tuesday, had she already ovulated then they would have said mate two days after (Sunday).
Some bitches stay at the imminent ovulation for a prolonged period so yours may not have ovulated until later than the Sunday predicted. For accuracy you need a reading that pinpoints that ovulation has already occurred.
Well they finally arrived on the Saturday, so theyre about a week and a half old now. 4 dogs and 3 bitches
That's lovely news. Are mom and pups doing well?

Yes all doing well and growing rapidly.

So they arrived smack on time on Saturday based on ovulation Sunday, whelping is reliably 62+/- a day from ovulation.
