Having researched, I have almost decided on HABORN guards for my new van.  I currently have an MMG and would not buy another as it went rusty within a year. My previous Barjo was better but I don't want to go back to dangling padlocks. Any comments on Haborn please?

No idea on haborn, had MMG previously, but its been in the garage the past 3 years and isn't looking its best, need a new crate for a different car and have opted for "Barnesbrook" crate this time

No idea on the guards but daughter had a crate for about 10 yrs, used for a hyperactive (vet diagnosed so not just your average 'lively'!!) it lasted for over 10 years with the Rott doing 'wall of death' in it when DD overtook any red or 'council colour' yellow lorries...strange dog, she hardly bothered if it was blue, green etc.
The crate looked fairly beat up when we lost the Rott but still quite usable.

ps, good strong bolt type catches on it. only drawback was it was quite heavy.

I had a cage from them, ordered it at crufts and was assured they had all the measurements, well it was delivered flatpack and after I had spent some considerable time bolting it together it became obvious that a lot of the holes were in the wrong place, the cage itself was lopsided and too big. I could close the tailgate carefully but the cage was touching the rear screen. Very badly made and I chose to drive all the way to them to return it. They promised to put it right and send me a replacement which I accepted. Well the second cage came and that was even worse! I took it back and had my money back.

I had a similar experience to that of roscoebabe and went with a Barjo crate in the end. Have also had a Barnesbrooke crate which I'd highly recommend. My first Haborn crate was good (it was a standard size) but when I changed car and ordered a new one from them it all went wrong. You may be OK if you don't need something made-to-measure.

That is worrying. Thanks for the replies.
