Topic Dog Boards / Health / bioflow magnetic collar

I have just purchased one of these for my 13 year old GSd who has arthritis in two toes on his right fore paw.  He also has Yumove, a Yarrow complex supplement, salmon oil and Loxicom if a flare up is painful.  I want to limit the use of Loxicom and am looking at starting a course of acupuncture.  I will throw anything natural at this and welcome any other suggestions.

Back to the Bioflow collar...if any one has used one, how quick did you see an improvement or was there no improvement at all.

Thank you.

I have used a magnetic collar on a large breed dog but it didn't have any benefit that I could see - though it may well be more likely that our boy's condition was far too severe for it to even have a chance rather than just arthritis etc.

On both our BMD and now on my Sisters 13 year old cocker who has arthritis - we did have quite good success in increasing mobility using Cosequin supplements (which are really quite pricey but were recommended by the vet) and FlexSprinkle Green Lipped Mussell Powder (which was recommended by our hydrotherapy centre) and which has the benefit of being a natural anti-inflammatory  - you can read about the flexsprinkle stuff here if you haven't already tried it (but I am sure there are many other people that make the same thing) http://www.ace-canine.com/flex_sprinkle.html  and about Cosequin here http://www.petdrugsonline.co.uk/dogs/healthcare-and-wellbeing/joint-support-and-mobility/cosequin-ds-chewable-tablets both are just natural supplements non-prescription. Out of the two the green lipped mussel powder made the most difference - especially with our arthritic cocker who it did make quite a significant difference for.

Used one on a Rott with general age related arthritis/stiffness, it took about 2 weeks to see an improvement and noticed the deterioration if it got left off for 2-3 days. Also tried one with a GSD - no difference at all.
It seems to be a case of 'try it and see,
Did find that 'Devils Claw' also helped the Rott.

I have used one off and on for a number of years with my staff.  I think it is fantastic and I rarely use meta am with her as the magnetic collar works so efficiently.  Bio flow offered a money back guarantee when I bought mine - if this is still in place you have nothing to lose.

Thanks guys for your replies.

He's been wearing the collar since yesterday and I will give it plenty of time to see if it makes a difference.

I'm going to check out all your suggestions
