Topic Dog Boards / Health / Recommendations for a daily face wash

Hi, can any member recommend a safe and gentle daily face wash please? My Shih Tzu puppy gets a very scruffy look after eating and by the end of the day look so dirty on his face. I have sorted his tear stain out, but would like the rest of his face to look clean along with the rest of him after grooming.

He had a puppy groom at the poochie parlour and they used a mild and gentle wash on his face. However they don't sell it to use at home for some reason.

If any member uses a product at home, i would appreciate knowing which one it is. Or any other product, for example, that is used for babies ?

Kind regards Janette

Tropiclean do a few facial scrubs/cleansers  - one is Tropiclean Lavish Spa facial cleanser and tear stain remover made with blueberries & oatmeal - its supposed to be ok for daily use.

There is another one that is supposed to be good & mild - Gerard Pelhum Fresh Fur Gel - which again has stain removers so not sure if it is as safe as they say or not - haven't used that one.

Not sure to be honest if they do anymore than daily wiping with water though.

I was able to buy the Tropiclean from my local pet groomer, used it today and Pippin's face and eyes look much brighter. I was reassured it will reduce the look of tears stains after a few uses.
Thanks for the recommendation

Hi all. The tear stains on my Shih Tzu have improved a lot . I used 2 products that were recommended, Tropiclean face wash and Eye Envy.
The Face wash rubs in the stains and lifts them once rinsed away and the Eye Envy has removed whats left over. The Eye Envy powder, has helped keep the area clean and dry.
It's not totally gone yet, but i'm pretty sure there will be a big improvement in weeks to come.

I'm not a fussy owner, i just want him to look clean and nice when he's out. He gets lots of compliments on his colouring and even was asked if i could put him to stud when he grows up.
Anyhow thanks to all who helped with this problem, so pleased i joined this site, learned a great deal
