Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / 2 litters at same time

I know we had a thread about this recently, and I promised to update on my situation, but cant find the posts anymore, so have started a new one. Well, my 2 litters arrived. Sunny was 5 days late, Willow 1 day early, so only 48 hours between whelping! The only negative at the moment is that one of the first pups was not doing well, and I has having to supplement hourly, which made Willows whelping a little more active than usual for me, bouncing between the 2 boxes for feeding/delivery! Sadly, I lost Sunny's tiny girl on Monday afternoon (I think it may have been a heart defect, she turned blue, and even though I revived her twice she just slipped away). Since then no problems so far (touch wood:)) when you have to be on 24 hour alert, it is as easy with 2 lots as one.

Hi Gwen

Thanks for your reply on the other thread ...

Glad to hear that the babies are doing well ...

Interested to see what the Silver and Red ones look like ?? I've see the Buff, Black and Black and White but not Silver or Red ....

We used to have a guy over here that Showed Yankees he had two lovely Black and White's that he did a lot of winning with ... I think they were the Misticolas breeding.

Best wishes

Derryn :D :D

Hope I can remember the various questions: DOGS, they are American Cockers, dollface there are 8 - 4 in each litter.
First litter has 2 boys and 2 girls, 2nd litter has 1 boy and 3 girls. Derryn, whilst they are all officially Buff, the "sub-split" of the colour allows us to call them silver, red etc. The Silver boy if the palest `I have ever seen - he was somehwer between ivory and white when born, he is now paelst cream, and the pigmetn is coming through, so he was 4 shiny blak feet (pads, I mean) and a sooty tone face :). The red girl is a sort of pale coppper - like a light ruby cavalier (closest description I can find) The other 2, 1 boy and 1 girl are identical mid-buff colour, beigy-gold colour.

I know there have been several Yankees going over to the Channel Islands over the past few years, if they were Black & Whites they aren't likely to have been Misticolas, as they have only bred solids for about the last 10 years. I know one of ours went to a guy who had the affix "Petwalk", cant remember his name though.

My parti colour litter are entrancing, being so tiny, but very healthy and lively - the smallest girl is only 5 oz, and they are coming up 4 days old!

Thanks for the colour clarification Gwen .....

A bit like the colours of Cockers Spaniels then, silver does sound rather nice though doesn't it ... I was imaging a sort of grey/silver. I bet they look adorable especially with the dark pigment coming through ......

You are quite right I have totally got the affix wrong with Misticolas they were lovely very striking black and white dogs.

Enjoy them and best of luck with the sleep :)

Hi Gwen

"Petwalk" Is Peter Walker, (who is currently banned from showing at the moment) and I have to say sadly he only had his American cocker for about 1 year (if that), Im not sure if it is still over here in Jersey.. :(

Natasha

PS Hope you get some sleep inbetween your litters !!!

What was he banned for?

Showing in the UK whilst the foot & mouth was on and bringing the dogs back to Jsy. We had an all round ban, no dogs were allowed into the island (we have alot of dairy farmers over here, including some of my family). There were 3 banned in total, one for 1 year, another for 2 years, and PW was 5 years.
