Can anyone help? When I leave my dog in the crate at a show even if I cover it he doesn't like anyone or dog near it and goes mad outside not a problem. But obviously have to use it from time to time. There is someone in the breed who is now telling others he is nasty which is untrue it's just a issue with the crate how can I get over this.

I never crate my dogs at shows - is it really necessary to crate him?  He obviously feels worried by the proximity of the other dogs which is intensified by the feeling of being trapped.

Yes unfortunately as If I have to leave him to get changed or go to the loo. When we are away from the show walking he is quite happy to be around other dogs. It is only the crate.

Crate beside a buddy and you look out for each other's dog when you have to leave?  Make a buddy of the person beside you?  My boy is ok but I do make sure I put my chair beside his crate on one side and my bag of stuff on the other.  If I didn't someone for sure would put their crate right smack up against ours.  The only person I know who does have a serious problem is a part owner of the facility we have most of our trials at and she has a preferential spot for her crated boy.

That won't happen in the UK as general championship shows are benched and so there is always a partition in between. :)
