Hi im asking this for m y sons girlfriend who has just bought a 13 week old cavalier pup.I believe she came with a small supply of food(tinned and biscuits)She(girl puppy)is only having 2 meals a day,is this ok?i would have thought 3 or 4 given her size-still im used to thumping great collies, havent a clue with cute little things like this!
And could someone please give me a rough idea of how much to feed at each meal?Shes already been overfed and got the trots, ive tried to find out online but havent been able to.Thankyou!

Mine are on 5 until seven weeks,
Then
4 till Twelve weeks,
3 till Six months
Then 1 at twelve months.
Difficult to give weights and measures as we don't know what food it is..I never give tinned food.

On Royal Canin Mini Junior I would probably give approx 30-40g per meal...dry weight.
I don't mind them eating more if their gut is settled as.....at this age they often shoot up and become gangly.

I've reared many pups like this.

Like Tooolz, four meals a day till 3 months, three meals a day till 6 months and then 2 meals a day thereafter. A puppy's tummy simply isn't big enough to contain and digest all the food it needs to grow in just two meals, which is why the poor pup has the squits.

What brand of canned food is it? Bakers, Butchers and Chum all seem to give puppies the squits anyway.
