Does anyone use any special shampoo for pregnant bitches? If so, which one?

I've done some googling and found this http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/shop/product/dr-bronner-unscented-babymild-pure-castile-soap-60004609 It's unscented baby mild castile soap. Do the ingredients sound safe to use on a pregnant bitch, to you?

Ingredients:

Water, Organic Coconut Oil*, Potassium Hydroxide**, Organic Olive Oil*, Organic Hemp Oil, Organic Jojoba Oil, Citric Acid, Tocopherol
* CERTIFIED FAIR TRADE INGREDIENTS
** None remains after saponifying oils into soap and glycerin

I have used Betty and Butch (rubbish name) dog shampoos on pregnant bitches before. They contain no nasty chemicals and are the right PH balance for dogs skin.

I avoid the ones which contain lemongrass if a bitch is pregnant, they have several varieties.

I've just had a quick look at their range, they're called Soap Bars, do they come in bar or liquid form?

ETA: I've got dogs with beards, so it's got to be safe enough even if they decide to lick around their lathered mouths.

They come in bars but do lather up pretty well.

Like you I worry about them ingesting chemicals by swallowing or through the skin but looking at the ingredients listed they seem very safe.

I use Johnson's baby shampoo if I have to bath a pregnant bitch.

I've always given pregnant bitches a bath if I feel they need sprucing up to feel more comfortable.

I have always used Mink Oil Shampoo which is what I use on most of my dogs, whether pregnant or not.  It has never caused a problem.

I usually just bath them as normal, but was told not to as they could swallow the shampoo, which could harm the pups.

Just wanted to see what others thought, as my girl definitely feels better after a bath, she just has a spring in her step.

I've done some reading around and Castile soap seems to be a popular ingredient in home made shampoos. I contacted the company, and although they've not categorically said it's safe for pregnant bitches, the soap is safe enough to brush human teeth. Looking at the ingredients list nothing jumps out to me as being harmful to dogs.

Wouldn't use baby shampoo Goldmali as it is a different PH value. Dogs/puppies need the correct shampoo for them.

Most dog shampoos are OK for pregnant bitches

Does that rule out the Babymild Castile soap too?

Baby shampoos are not good for dogs, who don't need to be stripped of every bit of grease.  My hairdresser many, many years ago told me to stop using baby shampoo on my own hair.  I used it just because it strips out my naturally greasy hair.

He told me that anyone spending their hard earned cash on hair colourants may just as well pour their money down the drain if using Johnson's baby shampoo as it was guaranteed to get rid of their colour very quickly.  I stopped using the shampoo because I like red, and that fades fast enough without any  help.
