Topic Dog Boards / General / Stimulating toys for a Newfie
- By Happy mummy [gb] Date 05.12.14 12:11 UTC
Hi all.

I just wondered whether anyone could recommend any stimulating toys for a Newfie that he wont be able to destroy straight away. He has a Kong but he gets bored of it quite quickly. I wanted to find something that is more stimulating for him that he has to think about, maybe to get treats out etc but the ones I have tried he has broken, brute force and ignorance seems to be his philosophy to get them out!

Its not to pacify him because he is on his own or anything like that. Its just in the evenings when we are walked and settling down and I sit watching TV or surfing the net etc he rather enjoys lying on my feel and having something to do himself... well ok maybe I like him to have something to do too :-)
Either way if anyone had any suggestions we would be grateful!
Thank you :-)

My Bernese after many toys, had these for years nice chunks on something tasty inside kept him busy for ages ..mind you he got better and better at stretching the ends to get the stuff out .. http://www.amazon.com/Treat-Dispensing-Chew-Ball-Large/dp/B0009YD8NS... You can buy them in pet shops here about 14.00

My Newfies much prefer anything they have found for themselves to any toys, the more unsuitable the better they like it! The cat's blanket is favourite at the moment. Most of the toys I have bought for them they have either figured out how to demolish or have run away from them!
