Topic Other Boards / Foo / Equafleece but in breathable Lycra still fabric??
- By Lorripop [gb] Date 03.12.14 23:02 UTC
I have an Equafleece which is brilliant and I used it today for my very feathered gundog, not to keep him clean (although this was nice) but to stop him getting all the gorse stuck and matted into his legs and chest plus various other things he collects when charging about the forest! BUT he got so hot in it running around, so I am trying to find out if there is a similar thing but in breathable fabric like runners wear so he doesn't get hot but all his fur is covered and he stays untangled?

The equafleece is great for keeping clean going into shows etc and on lead walks but not for running in.

All dogs coats seem to advertise about being warm and cosy which he really doesn't need.

http://www.seapets.co.uk/products/dog-supplies/dog-care/dog-coats/showerproof-dog-coats-and-trouser-suits/all-products.html   something like this ? not quite the material you mean. I have a drying coat that someone made for me in a lyrca type fabric so if you could get the fabric maybe someone could run one up

or this one :) http://www.k9topcoat.com/product.asp?specific=jnnproo4

Finlay has one of these http://www.doggiesolutions.co.uk/Buster-Soft-shell-Outdoor-Wear-All-Purpose-Jacket-For-Dog.html

He's only worn it a couple of times & I'm not sure whether or not it keeps him any cleaner than not wearing a coat. He does like to run at speed through puddles with great glee (he's a springer) & I've not found anything that keeps him clean when he does this!

equafleece do a t-shirt I think, any good?

Thanks
the doggy solution one doesn't have legs enclosed which is what I need for him.

K9 seem to have a micro fleece coat that might work but its £50.

I would give (almost) anything if I could buy coats which the dogs could wear, roll in fox/cow/horse poo and it stays on the coat and not the dog. Needs to withstand swimming and crashing through bushes as well. Must wash and dry easily. Not much to ask is it?

I'm going to get a k9 Clean Coat after Xmas so I'll let you all know what its like. It does say on the website that its not suitable for swimming which isn't a problem for us as I keep Fin out of rivers & the sea this time of year so it will just have to withstand puddles! If its no good out on walks, then I will just use it as a drying coat. I have to say though, the Equafleece that I got for my dachshund is brilliant. It keeps him clean & dry & keeps the fox poo off him. Fin has one too but he gets too hot in it.

Ooh I saw that ad and was very tempted, having an American cocker myself who gets in a fearful state on his hill walks! But I'm always scared by made to measure because I'm really bad at measuring, and I can't imagine I'd be able to get a refund if it didn't fit just because I'm useless at measuring! With the Cavaliers I just wait till I'm at a show and find a coat selling stall, but George doesn't go to shows, being 12.5 years old!
