I have a huge question: Thinking on this puppy but it has:

From the breeder: salivary mucoele on his neck under his left jaw this is a condition that the saliva duct/gland got injured while laying with his litter mates and this lump has saliva leaking into the tissue and has formed a lump. vet look at it and drew some of the saliva out and she is confident that it will just reabsorb as time goes on.
It has gotten smaller over time so this is a good sign....

My question is would this go away or would this puppy cost me many vet visits & prob need surgery? Very lovely pup but if its gonna be costly vet bills def not something I am able to do... Advice welcomed & greatly appreciated.

Personally this is something the breeder should sort out before homing.

Would you walk away & not consider the pup?
Do you think this will absorb or do you think future surgery?

I have no idea, but as it is a pre existing unresolved issue pup should not be homed until it is.

I think by all means check back with breeder after the issue is sorted and then consider having him.

No experience in dogs but I had a sinus mucocele which was discharging above my eye. I had to have surgery to correct it and I'm fine now. Hopefully this pup will be the same but I would hold off until it's been fixed

If you insure your dogs I would assume this would be classed as a pre-existing condition and would be an exclusion if the dog needed treatment in the future - something else to think about.

Hubby & I figured the best thing to do- Yes I think the breeder should keep the lil guy or fix it b4 homing.

She wants to home him straight away- I wanted to wait to talk to my vet who isn't back till the 30th.
I did talk to hers & she wanted an answer after I talked to her vet.
The pup has had it since 3 weeks & the vet think its from mom picking it up- I dunno.
Its about golf ball size I guess & hasn't gotten any bigger the vet said- then again does it just look like it hasn't because pup is growing?

No insurance on my dogs I just pay as I need to.

I have experince of this in an adult dog. The vet drained the mucocele severla times every few days and it eventually disappeared leaving no damage.

I also had a friend whose adult dog had this. Eventually she had to get it fixed surgically.
