Does anyone use this as a natural parasite preventative, or for any other reason. I would be very interested to hear how you use it and what for. It's been on the edge of my radar for years, but I have never ventured to try it.  Less and less I want to use chemicals, so your experiences would be helpful...many thanks.

There was a discussion about it a while ago, I looked into for my hens years ago, but at the time there was only anecdotal evidence that it worked, and I decided it was a waste of money.

I'm sure someone on here used it recently on their dogs.

I used it on my in whelp bitch and then had the pups worm counted at 4 weeks. All clear. Still using it on all my dogs and my 2 pups I kept and haven't worm counted again, though am about to, and lungworm test as well for the pups as they like snails - yuk!

Thank you both. So, Ridgielover, are you primarily using it for anti parasitic (worms) properties, or do you feel there are other health benefits also?

As an antiparasitic.
Have you looked at Sue Craigie's website (Imbali RRs)? She uses it herself - and sells human grade DE.

How do you actually administer it? I have some as I had it when I had some bantams but never thought to give it to the dogs. Is it any good for dogs prone to the runs?

I just sprinkle it over their food and stir it in, sometimes add a little warm water, it depends what I'm feeding :) No idea about the runs, I'm afraid

I've just seen a dry dog food with it in. Lukullus I'm parity sure it didn't use to have it when I was looking at it last year but it does now.

Thanks for the link, I will have a look.  I think I may give it a try.

I did a wormcount on my rescue girl for lungworm a few months back and it was clear, so I need to do another one soon. As I said, more and more I want to avoid chemicals where safe and appropriate.

Thanks again.

Ridgielover: Can this be used on 3 week old puppies? I have just looked on the website as advised but it doesn't state age of puppies. Just a bit worried about the amount 1/2 to 1 teaspoon - would this be the same for real tinies less than 1 kilo?
