I am on the waiting list for a pup which will hopefully be born in September. I really like both sire and dam, the bitch was bred by the breeder but was sold to a pet home, this pet home is breeding under the breeders kennel name with her mentoring (and visiting pups several times a week when they are born) breeder owns the sire.

I think the breeder is fantastic, she is so knowledgable about the breed and training etc, but the thing giving me doubt is the bitches 'owner'. I am friends with her on Facebook and how she comes across, things she shares etc really I do not like. I believe that if this litter was not being done under the breeders name/supervision, she would never have lifted endorsements.

I'm not sure whether I should let it put me off?  My concerns mainly are the upbringing of the pups- they are going to be working dogs so their upbringing is crucial IMO.

Opinions please!

My first Malinois was bought under similar circumstances, Breeder sold the bitch to a pet home, Sire also belonged to the breeder, she did the mating, her name and kennel name on all the papers but bitch remained with its family for the whelping and pups stayed there obviously too. She mentored and visited. We contacted the breeder about the pup, she assessed us for suitability etc then when she was happy we went to see the pup, picked her and took her home (she was 12 weeks by this point). We only ever saw the family a couple of times after this, I made every effort to keep in contact but they were never that good at keeping touch and so we stopped bothering. The breeder on the other hand we visit regularly, keep in contact loads and have had 4 other dogs from her.
