Can anyone suggest a shampoo and or conditioner for a black tri so I can get through his coat easier when drying especially the trousers which are rather on the dry side. He is groomed regular so doesn't get matted. I have tried several but its trying to get the coat to lay flat and able to get a wide tooth comb same as used on beardies through his coat.

I use groom and detangle (intensive) from groomers online. It's a spray on grooming spray and is for thick/wooly coats. Spray on and leave for a few mins then brush as usual. It is the only product that works on my boys trousers.

You'll probably laugh but I use Pantene conditioner on my BMD's hind quarters to detangle

Head and Shoulders followed by Pantene here.

Sorry all the "wrong pH people"... done this on all my dogs for decades and NEVER has as much as a skin flake!

I couldn't agree with you more - it was one of the first things that I was taught at grooming school!

In fact I used to buy my shampoo in bulk direct from the manufacturer - double the strength and half the price that they used to label up for a BIG dog shampoo supplier!  And Vets used to buy from me to prescribe for dogs with sensitive skin........  :)
