I have a bitch who had her second season 26/03/14-27/04/13, its normal for her to bleed for the whole season. I have 4 other bitches who all came in season in June this year and this bitch came in again on the 29th of June! And she is still in season! My other bitches are all out of season now.

Should I be worried that she came in season so soon after her earlier season? Between her 1st and 2nd season there was 7 months but between her 2nd and her 3rd was only 3 months!?

I always have pyo at the back of my mind but would she still be bleeding if she had pyo? Its bright red blood and she is acting totally normal and isnt drinking excess water.

Do you think I am being too cautious or does this warrant a vet visit? A friend who has been in my breed for years thinks its just happened because the rest of my bitches have came in together and its brought her in.

Should add that she is 20 months old and a small toy breed

Have her checked out to play safe. I had one have normal seasons then suddenly she started bleeding again with bright red blood after just over 2 months . No other symptoms whatsoever, but yes she did have pyometra.

Update: we went to the vet, she couldnt find anything wrong, the blood is clean and looks good. She has recommended that I give it another week and if she is still bleeding to go back for an ultrasound. She cant confirm but doesnt think it is pyo as my bitch is behaving totally normal.

Even if she does stop bleeding I think Im going to get the scan just for peace of mind!
