My dog has always has allergies and my vet told me to try and eliminate foods i thought she may react to until i find out which one she is allergic to but still she continues to itch so ive demanded she gets allergy tested because recently she is is going crazy itching, especially her paws which i believe could be a grass allergy but also her ears. She has been treated with advocate and does not have ear mites I know she reacts to chicken and all the treats and chews available in petshops send her in to an itching frenzy but seems to be ok with venison but not grains. Can anyone recommend a food i can try her on while im waiting for the allergy test? I hate seeing her suffer, its so upsetting. x

I would try her on an elimination diet for at least 8 weeks. I put my girl on Purina HA. Then slowly introduce one food at a time ,only adding another ingredient when there is no reaction. Whilst on the diet you must not give her any other food at all so that her system can clear itself of whatever is causing her problems. Food allergies are extremely difficult to diagnose. Good luck.

Not sure but I seem to recall someone saying grass allergies are usually limited to spring/ summer months so grass should be avoided whilst it's growing. As I say not sure and could of dreamt it lol
