What would you do if a dog won a ticket this month but was out of that class last year because of the number of class wins with tickets on offer it had had?
Surely you keep account of the number of firsts you get?

If it was my dog I'd come clean. I had a similar thing at an obedience show I'd been out of shows for a bit and discovered half way through the day that the rules had changed and she was actually out of the class. Went straight to show secretary and judge and explained and withdrew from class.

If it was somebody else's dog that's a different kettle of fish. I'd either leave it alone or if I did do anything I'd want to be totally sure I had my facts right

Not my dog but very sure of the wins for this dog

I'd make sure I'd taken into account closing dates for shows, I'd actually won 6 PG classes back-to-back with my boy, but the closing dates and wins taken counted up until a certain date meant that it was okay.

Last win was October, they didn't enter Crufts

It's surely up to the owner to keep count of wins and how they affect the classes they want to enter.   If they are caught out, then they'd forfeit those wins taken from classes they had won their way out of.   However, with closing dates so far ahead, when campaigning a dog it's all too easy (one hopes!!) to notch up the wins after entering the later show.

Is it possible to move a dog up to a higher class after submitting the entry, in the UK?   I seem to remember a dog who has taken the right number of points to become a Champion before the show, could be moved into Specials out in Canada.

I guess you could lodge a complaint, but you'd need to be absolutely certain of your facts.   We did this once, when our bitch took a RCC to a bitch we later discovered hadn't been registered with the KC (oddly both bitches were imports!!).    After a looong time, the KC upheld our claim, and our bitch was given the CC - that was wonderful of course, but in fact in the meantime she'd taken her '3rd' so we were actually denied the fun of taking a 3rd in the ring!!    And by that time also, we'd retired her in favour of maternal duties.   We did show her again a couple of years later and she took RBCC Crufts that year.

Then it doesn't count -wins are counted up to 7 days BEFORE the closing date for paper entries (not online entries). So there is always time to change an entry if you have a big win and have entered early.

Point is your in the correct class if the wins are after the 7 days before entries closing.  You shouldn't be changing classes at the show or even before on-line entries etc

Your dog could be a champion but still be in Post graduate if it won several CC's on the trot in the summer, in breeds that have sets close together..
