How great to see a full champion Labrador winning well.  ;)

Here is her page  http://fabracken.weebly.com/chfabracken-trust-in-me.html on her owner/breeders website:

I really don't like the overdone heavy dogs that are often shown, but equally well don't think some of the working lien ones like my friend has (a lot of FT champions in pedigree) that look like whippet crosses are right either.

This seems to have struck the right balance

I see she got the CC at Crufts, I like her much better than the dog that got BOB!

Seems it is a good year for Dual Champion dogs being made up:

The first every Dual Champion (Field & Show) German Wirehaired Pointer has also been made up: Peter and Rita Howard's FTCh Tickencote Talk Tonight

That is not to forget the original Dual Champion (WT & Show) - Pat Dempster's dog Hogan: WT Ch & Sh Ch Benreeda Wolfgang of Jacinto

I think we need to differentiate between DUAL champions and FULL champions.

The first would be both Field Trail champions and Show champions, the latter will have working qualifications to change the Show champion to Champion.

I think in the UK there are very few DUAL champions in any breed, not through lack of ability, but due to the time and quantity of completion, making it almost impossible to do justice to both fields of activity to that level.

It does look like this kennel though has 'true workers' rather than field trial competitors

Wasn't the last labrador Dual Champion back in the 1940s?

That would be Knaith Banjo, born in 1946 Jan

Good point Brainless. I should have started a new thread and not tagged it on this one. That'll teach me to rush! I was just pleased to see that history had been made in GWP's in a positive way :)

I can think of several in gundog breeds, but you are correct - it does take a lot of time and money to make up a Dual Champion.
