When your dog is out of age classes, how long would you keep them in PG until moving them into Limit/Open?

I was thinking three or four.

:)

It would depend how well they're doing in PG. My bitch won 5 PG classes but we didn't have CCs then so she was still eligible to stay in the class. I only kept her in PG until she was 3, then moved her out of Limit and into Open this year when she was 4. She's still eligible for Limit though - just!

I tend to stick to the actual rules on how much you can have won, unless it is a lightly shown dog in which case a 4 year old would look bad being stuck in PG, but most of the time it tends to be into Limit by 3 at the latest. Except my 13 month old has just won his first CC from Junior so will have to go straight into Limit at 18 months. I guess if nothing else such a young dog in Limit should tell the judge it must have done well. ;)

Thanks both, my dog is 19 months at the minute but something to think about :)

Congratulations Marianne!
