Do they always have a temp drop just before labour begins? I have only ever had one of my girls had the drop and nothing happened the rest have been text book but my friends dog is on day 57 and is seriously restless and panting but she has taken her temp throughout the day an still around 37.8.

In 40 plus years I have never relied on temperature to be 100% accurate.  It's why I never bother.  I do feel some novices can get over eager, and I often think the poor bitch must be sick to death of being messed with.

Thanks she isnt however a novice and has always had !00% success rate with this method but it did look like her girl was in the early stages of labour. She called to say she had fallen asleep so false alarm anyway
