There's a miniscule possibility my choir (egged on by me!) might consider a fun dog show as a fundraiser, quite a few of our members seem to have dogs, and probably friends and family with dogs too! Just getting a few outline ideas though, first thing I wanted to consider was venue - do you have to hire a field or rec, or can you just turn up in the middle of Hardwich Heath and set up a ring?? Surely you have to ask the council for anything like that? I know I hire a venue properly for a rally trial, and I know we didn't have to hire anything for our spaniel meets up in Greenwich, we just had 8 or so people meeting up with dogs and a few little agility games. But not sure about something in between like a fun dog show. Or perhaps even a companion dog show if we wanted to make it a little bigger, I know we'd need a KC licence then. Might never happen, but I thought the venue was probably the first thing to think about cost wise!

I used to put on Exemption shows in Stanton (10 years of them) and the EASBTC do an annual fun day, usual procedure is to write to the Parish council, explain what, when and fundraising for *** and ask for permission to use the Recreation ground.
Our PC used to charge Gt Barton club for use for their obedience show which was profit for the club but never charged us or the EASBTC as it was fundraising for a charity.
Otherwise do you or the choir know a friendly farmer with a field going free. :-D

Brilliant, thanks for that!

Can't remember which village you are in but remember that most PCs meet once a month so you would need to get a letter in well before time

Just remembered another thing, ask around and find out what the car park on the recreation ground is like for size and surface, and if you can 'overspill' onto the rec ground field. Some of the villages are particularly 'precious' about the rec and the grass!

Ooh thanks. We are in Woolpit but we couldn't use their rec; if anyone in our choir took up my idea for a fundraiser it would have to be elsewhere, dogs are not allowed on the rec here. :-(
