My neighbour came round earlier...I thought she was distraught, but no she was just drunk :( Her 9 yr old male Llasa has blood dripping from his pen*s. My Husband rushed round & got there just in time to see the dog urinate & it was a steady stream of bright red blood :( I immediately phoned my vet, but they would only talk to the owner. So.... your dog is dripping blood....do you A: Take your dog to the vet. or B. Carry on throwing vodka down your neck then start weeping & wailing! We offered to take the dog, but she staggered in & locked the door, saying 'I know my dog, he's not in distress' I'm raging!

Remember the Animal Welfare Act. It is an offence to withhold veterinary care. Saying you can't afford it is not an option.

While it is a holiday weekend and out of hours vets re often out of this world re fees, leaving it til Tuesday would be wrong. If she doesn't think it's serious, then she needs her head examined. Most of us females have had acute cystitis at some point - the thought of having to endure that pain without treatment for a couple of days doesn't bear thinking about - and the peeing blood indicates this is one stage further than the kind of cystitis we're used to.
I've heard nothing...apart from her dogs barking at 2am (there's 4 of them) No answer when I call, text or knock on the door. I'm not even sure it's a Bank Holiday today...my Husband has an appointment at hospital today...had his appointment changed from Friday to today. Next step will be phoning my vet, but not sure if they will give me information regarding someone else's dog. We all know how painful a Urinary Tract Infection is...poor boy :(
Just popped in to let you know that the idiot next door won't answer calls, texts or the door...still! Is it illegal for me to dognap her boy for the sake of getting him vet treatment? If I look out of my back bedroom window, I can see puddles of dried up urine & it's bright red. I'm so angry right now.

Your best bet is to contact the RSPCA. If you take the dog, even with the intention of getting him treated and returning him, it could cause you problems legally.

Take some photos and call the RSPCA.

Have you reported the lack of veterinary care to the RSPCA?

It's a crime, so the Police should be contacted, though they may not
want to do anything.
Sorry for late reply. I contacted the RSPCA Hotline & gave as much info as possible. My Husband also chased the owner round Tesco's this morning, but she made a swift getaway! I had a text last night asking if I had a crate she could use. Ermmm she knows I've just bought a crate for my pup, but he's using it. No reason at all for her not taking dog to the vet. They have 3 cars at their disposal. She's avoiding us at the moment, but I will see her... & she'll wish I hadn't!!!
