Hi,

We have a twelve an half year old lab who keeps weeing in the kitchen.

Is it an age thing? She will wee when we go on a walk and in the yard, so does wee outside.

Today she has been in the yard all morning, I nipped out for 40 minutes and came home to a wee. I thoroughly bleached the kitchen the other day but is there still a scent there which is causing her to wee?

if its an age thing what can we do?

Thanks

It is more likely an infection as age incontinence is more visable if they have been laying down for a period of time as it is often a slow drip rather than having to wee more often .

I would get her checked out by your vet

Just to add use biological washing liquid when cleaning the floor as that will get rid of any residue which may leave a scent

Just to add that bleach is likely to enhance the smell of ammonia in the wee. As LJS says wash well with soapy water and rinse and then wipe over with surgical spirit to completely remove an residual smell. Wait until everything is fully dry before letting your dog into that area.

It may be her age- a slight loss of bladder control, and infection or a bit of confusion. I'd get her checked at the vet.

Do let us know what the vet says.
