Topic Dog Boards / Showing / sp yearling??

does special yearling at a single breed ch show qualify for crufts next year?

Didn't think there still was such a thing as SPECIAL yearling, it was changed to Yearling a few years ago and that is a qualifying class. I believe any class prefixed "special" does not qualify.

Other than the Crufts classes special Puppy & Special Junior.

Special yearling is 6 months to 24 months wheras yearling is 12 months to 24 months. There is still a special yearling class that can be classified if a club so wishes(tends not to be at champ shows) but most champ shows only classify yearling now.

Depends on what stud band you are in my breed no friends breed yes

No. The only 'Special' classes that qualify are those at Crufts itself.

Breed champ shows dont tend to classify it but they sometimes do for open ones. For the reason as Special Yearling isnt a qualifying class, unlike Yearling which does in stud band e!

Yearling is a qualifier in all CC breeds now.

It is indeed, and it probably made no sense to not have it as a qualifier. The stud book band A breeds for instance aren't very likely to HAVE a Yearling class at championship shows. At least I've never known one in my breed.

As already stated any class which is classed as special is not a qualifier for crufts,be it special yearling or special color etc
