As others are of course , I am one of the world's worst worriers from when mine come into season. Thought I would write this as I have a beautiful litter of 10 puppies.
Along the way I had every worry going and so it might provide reassurance to others!!!!
First she had, 2 seasons, 2 phantoms. Some were saying I might have to have her spayed. This despite her Mum being a prolific producer of large litters. Perhaps my luck was out and she would be the last of my line.
Should I have the CHV vaccine or not and when. Always worrying to give anything when pregnant but I did.
Then when I thought she was ready, the dog I planned to use would not play the game so I had to decide on another even though she would be really late in her season. 3 days later than my first planned day. 2 long trips in 2 days but I was not confident in any shape or form. After all it should have been too late.
She is a very energetic and jumpy dog, would do well in flyball if trained. I'm told from a certain point not to allow jumping so all of this made me worry that she was causing harm. Every run and jump went through me.
Then the stringy discharge started very early. For the last 2 weeks she put on no weight at all.
I used this site for reassurance so thanks every one for that.
Fortunately I did not need any help for the whelping as it was my closest to text book ever but I have certainly looked here for reassurance and comfort in previous litters.
I just wanted to say how useful this forum was and I will try and use my experience as do others here thankfully so that others may experience as worry free an experience as possible. ( if that ever can happen )
