I was just wondering what other people are using now that you cant get Panacur 2.5% suspension when worming small puppies.

My puppies are 2 weeks old and weigh approx 300 - 450 gms - in the past I have used the 2.5% suspension and it was an easy measurement - now I can only get 10% and to worm a 300gm puppy I have to measure out 0.3mls accurately! Luckily I found a 1ml syringe in the medicine cupboard but even then it is quite hard.

I just wondered if anyone had found an alternative to the larger puppy wormer, if any other company did a suspension for very small puppies.
Your advice would be greatly received.

I manage to use Panacur 10% for 3oz pups, it's not hard.  I buy the 1ml syringes in packs of 10 from hyperdrug.

It's quite a number of years now since our last litter, but I always used Sherleys Syrup.   (Piperazine Citrate.)    It only gets roundworm however, again as I remember.

Using the 10%panacur is great, less liquid to get down the pups, less to be spat al over lol

I usually mix it in natural greek yoghurt for the adults - they love it!

10% Panacur ... should be able to get a few 1ml syringes from your vet if need them quickly.

Not quite sure why you would find measuring out 0.3ml with a 1ml syringe hard though ... have you tried drawing up the Panacur into the barrel of the syringe, then pushing it back out again and then drawing it up to the measure? I find if I draw up the first time there is always a bit of an air bubble under the plunger, though in truth probably not sufficient to affect the effectiveness of the solution, once 'lubricated' the bubble doesn't appear. Just a tip that may help if that's why you're finding accurate measuring difficult.
