Today I log in to CD and the Forum Board page is bedevilled by coloured keyword links.  If you accidentally hover over them up pops an ad.

Think you have downloaded a virus somehow. Sounds like adwords i hate it, its a pain.  Scan your pc

Got our inhouse admin (AKA DS :-D ) on to it.

It wasn't a virus as such, but an extension called Web Save in Firefox Add ons !  No idea where it came from, but DS has sorted it.

Going to block it via our router settings to avoid it coming back :-D

I thought it might be punishment because of something I posted last night :-D

Firefox is a bitch for that, it's the reason I stopped using it after sticking with it for years.  I kept stopping it, it kept coming back :-(

I have it too :( very annoying.

I had it last week. It took me ages to find the file causing it and eliminate it. It had come as a 'free gift' with a small program that I'd bought and downloaded

OK well that went well - NOT!

For some reason DS reset the router and we had no internet until this morming.

Had to phone tech support.

Sorted now. And we're getting sent a new router to replace the one that's 10 yo

For those struggling with Web Save by NAV-Links.com,  you can block it by using your router settings

To remove it from Firefox,  go to Tools, Add Ons, Extensions and click remove.   :-)   then reboot firefox.
