Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Raw feeding got easy!
- By B-e-c-k-y [gb] Date 26.01.14 09:38 UTC
I have just changed over to raw feeding after feeling like it was a massive hassle and so easy to get wrong! BUT I found now it is so easy to get it right!

I use nutriment and it comes as a complete food! Easy peasy!

Also, the price is around the same £ per kg as the kibble I used to use, Symply.

My dog goes to my parents house if I am going to be out a bit longer than normal and sometimes has dinner there and so instead of them worrying about it he can have acana/orijen (biological appropriate food) with no detrimental effect.

Anyway, just thought I would pass on the info for anyone else  who thought it was hard!

I don't feed a ready mixed raw but I don't find it that difficult :) I think some people worry about getting everything they need in them but it's a case of balance over time rather than giving them everything every day. It obviously does take more time and prep which takes a bit of getting used to, but I love it (and of course so do the dogs).

Like you I will feed a high quality, grain free kibble such as Canagan, or something like nature diet when I'm away at shows etc.

Have a look at the Nutiment website and you can see the complete meals etc they sell. Drop them an email or call - they really are so helpful!!

Puggy - if you're on FaceBook there are a number of really useful groups to help you.
Raw Feeding UK is a good one - with lots of files of info to start you off and knowledgeable peolpe to answer your queries.
Your dogs will love you for it!

Has anyone looked at the WolfTucker site for raw complete meals.
Fantastic quality, no additives and nothing mushy added, they also supply straight meat minces, tripe, bones, chicken carcases.
There is also a brilliant download about raw feeding any why our dogs should do so well on raw.
It makes life so much easier if you are short of time or not sure.

Had a look at the Wolf Tucker site but it's a lot more expensive than the raw food I currently feed.

Loooove Nutriment here :)
Bowls licked clean, even with my fusspot, and the staff at Nutriment bend over backwards to help you

People who feed Nutriment, do you get it delivered ?
I  attempted an order, just £15 to see what it's like, but they are trying to charge me £100 delivery !.
I only live in Scotland, not the North Pole ! Lol.

There's a minimum order quantity, if you order less than this then it automatically adds £100 delivery charge.

Try the starter pack - £18 including postage.

I get it delivered to Jersey and have it sent by UKmail as a "pallet" but it comes in boxes :)

You need to ring them if you're ordering large quantities or for "odd places" - they have courier prices and are really helpful at getting the cost as low as possible - you might find its better to order a whole box's worth which is 20 tubs :)

Ah I see, didn't notice the minimum order bit, I'll try again.

£6.50...much better.
I looked at the starter pack but there was a lot of chicken, which Daisy isn't too keen on, and I wanted to try some of the cat ones too.

Sod's law, my Nutriment order should have arrived today but the courier update says it's been delayed, goodness knows when it'll get here or what state it'll be in .

I get my raw mince from Berriewood and supplement with chicken legs/bones/fish and offal.

I was quite daunted when I started, but you soon get the hang of it.
