Don't want to digress from the other KAB thread but...
from what I understand in the 'new' criteria for the KCAB, we have to keep full breeding records of our dogs.
What information do you currently keep about a litter and what do you think the assessors are likely to want to see?

I start with a puppy...DOB......every season.....whether mated or not...all health tests....all wins....
Then her pregnancy...whelping, listing every puppy, weight, sex colour, identifying markings and my code for quality.
Each pup is weight monitored...photographed...dates of Micrchip and vaccinations.
Any hernias, white of eye, defects, problems.
I give a contract for each puppy....read and signed .....I put ALL contact info on the back of the copy of contract I keep....this is all attached to the Breeders Litter certificate, with whelping notes and each owners contract/info.

Anyone else...

The above was sufficient to pass my KCAB inspection.

I'm sure it was...  Just wondered what others did.  My records certainly aren't as detailed as yours!

Is there a book out there with all the info needed and we just need to fill in the details?

I passed. Mine were not as detailed as yours but we are all different.
A record of each puppy, its contract and new owners details and of course all the other paraphonalia. So in other words I did not show/keep a detailed record of weights etc throughout although at the time I do weigh puppies through their lifetime with me.

I got a whelping kit some years ago from Petnap and in it there were some sheets that you could use for documenting bitches temp, puppies births, weights, health etc. I photocopied them and use them in a ringbinder for each litter along with copies of each puppy's Hearing test cert, KC reg, microchip number, contracts etc. They do a similar thing on disk now called Whelper Helper PDF...

I keep a diary documenting everything that happened during the pregnancy and birth and I pop that into the folder once the pups are gone to their new homes.

I like to keep detailed records for my own sake as since I past 40 my memory is rubbish :-P

I've kept very detailed mating, whelping and rearing data for over 35 years.
It has been incredibly useful....( aside from any outside agency).
