I have a dog with kennel cough, I am giving cough meds and manuka honey, how long should it take before I see an improvement in him?

Depends on the strain. I had it recently and it seemed to be a tough one, was almost 3 weeks before the coughing stopped completely.

If needs be you can ask the vet for antibiotics -as it passed from one dog to another here we called the vet and they prescribed antibiotics to treat secondary infections and it did speed the process up. Hubby went into the vet's saying he had come to collect the woofing cough medication LOL.

When my girl had it she had it for about a week, my friends dogs have it now (it's going around where I live loads got it) but they only coughed for 3-4 days, one of them was realy bad one of those days.

Me vet gave us antibiotics for it and just said Waite a week with no coughing then she good. They didn't give a time fraim as it habe diffrent causes.
