Anyone have the boots?
I have some slippers and they are on the large side for my size and wondered if the boots came up large too.
Thanks Karen

Hi Karen,
The boots when new (if you're buying the good quality varieties- Celtic or UGG Australia or Emu) come up quite small due to the volume of sheepskin inside... With time the sheepskin will flatten and so the boots will 'widen' ~ with that in mind go no more than a half size or a size up from your usual shoe size.
I have 5 different styles and couldn't live without them now! My original pair bought in Australia are about 7 years old now and still going strong (use suede protector!)
Hope this helps :-)
Agree with HG, (never had the slippers wonder why they have come up large?) But the boots certainly do not, my size fitted perfectly, love them, they are so warm and cosy and they last. :-)

Thanks you two :)
Have already ordered................the correct size for my daughters shoe size, so here's hoping!
I will remember to get the suede protector as I have chosen an outrageous colour (well its Christmas).
They are 'real' and can be exchanged if too small, just hope she likes them now.

She will be over the moon I'm sure. :-)

:-D Brilliant! I'll be expecting photos on your Facebook when she's unwrapped them!

Yes husky girl I love my "ugly" boots although they are actually emus

YYYEEUUUCCHHHH
Like a hybrid between a wellie & a slipper. Totally no support for your ankles and feet.

Depends which style you buy Christine the UGG Plumdale style (which remind me of the Inuit boots I used to buy in Norway are very substantial and just as good)
The pair I've had for 7 years are still going strong, I'll stick my neck out here and say those collaped heel UGGS you see on some girls are probably fakes and nothing some good deportment wouldn't fix!!! (What is with this schlepping foot dragging gait!?? Often favoured by those whose leggings look like see through tights!! :-0)

LOL - I share your view :) They have the worst bits of both IMO :) They aren't waterproof and unless you are lucky to live somewhere where you will never get them dirty (or have that lifestyle) - they look horrible when used for a while/dirty :) I couldn't possibly have them living here nor could I justify the cost to have something sitting in my wardrobe that would only get used once in a while :) Practicality over fashion here :)

Husky gal lol agreed. Btw I walk properly and just checked the leggings nope everything fully covered !!!
I think you are right about the fakes or primark specials

Ha-ha....Facebook Christmas pictures, she can cringe!
They are flamingo pink and who could deny a teenager the delight of such at this time of year, I think she'd be wiser to use them as slippers, but they are hers to do with as she wishes or at least they will be.
xx

Walking the amount of miles I walk everyday, I wouldn't contemplate something like this. Its a fashion boot and that's it. Even Wellingtons are off my list now. I had plantar fasciitis a few years ago and realise the need to wear footwear with excellent support.

So do I Christine, I've bought some new wellies which are ok at a push, but I could do with some short waterproof comfy boots really. Thought I had found a great pair but they weren't quite big enough and they didn't go any bigger. Have large feet so do find it difficult. My walking boots (lightweight) are either Merrals or Teva both of which have good support and are soooo comfortable.

Okay, I will make sure she has some sensible walkers too just not wrapped up as a Christmas present. :)
Walking the amount of miles I walk everyday, I wouldn't contemplate something like this. And you'd be right, I would not use them for dog walks ever! I don't think anyone has actually advocated them for dog walks, (unless pavement walks) they'd get too dirty and wet, especially on my country walks they'd be covered in mud.

I have my walking boots and wellies for that especially in this weather, no the UGGS and similar are very comfortable for going out in for shopping, meeting friends etc, they are just so warm and comfortable, in this cooler weather they are great, I can't wait to put them on.
I don't think Dogz daughter will be wanting them for a dog walk, but for fashion and their warmth, we all have different clothes and footwear for different occasions. :-)

I'm sat here smiling! :-)
A couple of years ago I had a young couple come to look at some pups. He was buying for her, and I didn't realise until they came, it was to thank her for giving birth!
She had just been treated to a pair of UGGS and a puppy put a paw on her foot while they watched the dogs. Now, have you ever seen the size of a Chihuahua puppy's paw.

I thought this girl was going to have a seizure. She went ape. Shouting get off, get off, I won't get another pair of these! I reined myself in and suggested that a puppy was not right for them. :-)

lol Jean glad she wore the uggs so you could find out what she was really like. How big was her handbag ? big enough for a chi I bet !!

Some people JeanSW, no common sense, and no sense that they are actually buying a living breathing animal, with wants and needs not a handbag accessory, baby in, puppy out!
What on earth would she have done if the pups had pee'd on her boots, probably be close to cardiac arrest. :-D
This is why puppy ownership fails so much with some people, they are just not prepared for a chewing, peeing, pooing, tugging, biting machine and think pups just cuddle up to you all day and sleep.
Good call, that pup would have been back with you in no time and no doubt be very wary of humans from being shouted at all the time and being told bad dog! :-(
it was to thank her for giving birth!
??? nobody told my husband this...i didnt get so much as a bunch of flowers for enduring a 3 day labour with our daughter??!!
i buy the cheap uggs every year. they only cost a tenner and see me through the winter until they are chucked. i dont think i could ever justify that much money on real ugg boots.
Ahhhhh.......... that's what I thought, I'm happy to pay out for quality and something I like but tbh when UGGS first came out I didn't get the fuss, I thought they were ugly, I was used to wearing nice leather boots with a heal which look nice with clothes for lunching etc, but more and more people wore them and more and more I thought they were mad and swept up in the hype.
But then, my niece made me try hers on and that was it, hooked, suddenly they didn't look ugly anymore, suddenly it was all about the comfort, much in the same way that crocs got me, once you put these things on you do an about turn. :-D
Have to say I once bought a pair of the cheap ones, I knew they wouldn't be the same quality but I thought they would be close enough, after all we all know we pay through the nose for brand names, they looked ok ;-) but, I really hurt my ankle in them as the heal and whole foot lopped to the side. The 'real' ones are good quality and sturdy, the others were binned and I stick to the real McCoy now, like that old saying 'you get what you pay for' and there's no reason why they shouldn't last for years, so they are a good investment.

Huh! I'd have sacked him!! He must have been shell shocked. :-D

'i buy the cheap uggs every year. they only cost a tenner' - none of my business of course but do you mean fake uggs or just similar style ?. Either way they are cheap for a reason, imported from wherever and probably made inhumanely, unless of course they are synthetic.
they aren't fakes but are the cheap ones that you can buy in most shoe shops these days.
I've never looked into the origin of how my clothes or shoes are made so cannot comment on if they were made humanely or not. I remember there being controversy surrounding the makings of the genuine ugg too.
Carrington:perhaps if i tried some on i would be converted :-) Until then, the cheapies will have to do. What with dogs, children life etc i couldn't afford to buy the real ones yet anyway.
Although...husband does owe me a 'giving birth present' lol
:-D :-D TBF there was no gift better than your baby girl, nothing compares does it? If you have another though drop the hint big time. :-)
hints will be dropped lol :-)
