if pups eyes are blue when they open, what's the average time it takes for pups eye to turn to their adult colour?  I know I've had pups bought in who've taken over 18 months, but this must be uncommon.  One of those 'pups' has sired a litter now 5 weeks and their eyes are still blue, although one pup has one bright blue and now one darker blue eye... thanks in advance

By that age I'd expect the eyes to be noticeably brown - not as dark as their adult colour but rather a muddy colour. The bright blue eye will undoubtedly stay that colour, but the darker eye will hopefully end up brown.

Depends on eye colour, as an adult, for its breed. I doubt Weim wants a dark eye???
They should be darker by the time they are 7 weeks but some can be quite late getting darker. My breed doesnt mention anything about eye colour but I most deffinately prefer a dark eye personally, as I feel it gives the 'kind expression' which is mentioned.

I know with all three Labs I have, their eyes were still a slate grey colour by the time they were eight weeks of age, and with my 20 month old girl, her eyes are still darkening, even though they are now brown, and have been since about three or four months of age.

well clearly these pups aren't weims! lol! clearly it's a breed which is normally brown eye, but can have blue or grey.....although sire and 3 of the pups are the same colour as weims... but normally even with this colour the eyes are usually brown...

it'll be interesting to see when/if these pups change...
