Has anyone taken their dogs here ?
I have seen a dogs there  but whenever I try to book at Whinfell, it says nothing available.

There are very limited dog friendly lodges available at Penrith and we were advised to book at least eight months in advance.

OK,thanks.
I have a small, non-shedding dog. Did you find that the lodge you stayed in was covered in dog hair and smelled 'doggy', or was it clean ?
And could you take your dog pretty much anywhere ( other than the main buildings ) ?

Sorry I can't help with that, as after we booked the holiday, I got pregnant and low and behold, my due date was the week before the holiday. We brought the holiday forward a month, but by the time we did no dog friendly accommodation left.

I know you can't take them in the Sports Plaza complex but I also have a feeling you may not be able to take them anywhere in the village centre, as unlike the other forests, it is all inside. There is some fantastic walks at Whinfell though, like up to the stables or down to the exit.
