Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / 6yr old Cav girl peeing!!

Hello Everyone,
Not been here for some time now, but I need a bit of advice.
I have a 6yr old Cav girl...spayed at 3yrs old, healthy and fit etc.
Just recently whenever she is fed she will just stand and pee whilst eating...making no attempt to go outside.
Food times have not changed, routines have not changed...it just seems shes become lazy.
I have tried putting her out before meals, but it doesnt seem to make any difference, every time shes fed she will pee.
Vet has checked her and cant find anything....
Any advice would be good please.
Thanks:)

She seems to be suffering from post spay incontinence...assuming no bladder infection present.

Drugs can control it well. A balance between Propalin and Inurin may need to be adjusted over time to dry her up entirely.
Vets usually start with Propalin and add a little female hormone Inurin to make the bladder receptors more perky if Inurin alone doesn't solve the problem.
Good luck.

Thanks Tooolz,
Vet wont give any drugs unless really needed and no bladder infection found...he did say its just a possible weak bladder tho...so not sure what to do..unless I put a Pampers on her at mealtimes!!
She was spayed 3yrs ago, so would post spay incontinence be a factor after all this time?

Don't hesitate to get a second Veterinary opinion. As Tooolz said, if it is "post spay incontinence" (which can occur at any time, even years later) it can be dealt with very successfully with drugs.

Agree with Admin, try another vet, the diagnoses of a weak bladder means nothing and if there is such a thing it needs treatment.

Many Thanks everyone:)
Another trip to the vet I think and if no joy there, then will be definitely be looking for another.
Thanks again.

I've put my girl on inCurin(not inurin) as she was wetting the bed in her sleep. We tested her urine for uti and once she was determined to be free of a urine infection, she was put on  inCurin. it resolved her incontinence in three days and she has stayed dry since. She took the meds for many months, then I reduced the dose.

I'vecompletely  taken her off the meds a couple of months ago and we've not has a repeat of the wetting.
