Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / So happy - perfect poo

My dogs are usually fed a grain free dry food, at the moment Eden, however my rescue Beagle that has been with me since May has had an upset tum since arriving. ( poos like a melting Mr Whippy splodge - excuse the description) At first I thought it was because she was poorly, then I thought it was all the medication. But now she is more or less recovered I have run out of reasons for her tum, so am now looking at the food. I wondered if the high meat content etc was too rich for her, so 3 days ago I changed her onto Arden Grange Lamb and Rice ( after reading comments on here ) I changed the food in one day because her tum was already upset and I felt I needed to change food quite quickly instead of the usual slow change over. Today is day 3 and she did her first absolutely perfect poo.
I am so pleased I wanted to show everyone ( how sad) It just goes to show that grain free is not always the best for all dogs.
Once my 15kg new bag of Eden is finished by my other two dogs then I think they can all eat the same Lamb and Rice.
Thank you so much Arden Grange

Another Arden Grange fan here.  Your post made me laugh, Sillysue.  It reminded me of when my boy was a puppy.  My OH did a grand job of looking after him when I was at work.  Part of my instructions, (for OH, not for the puppy!), was to observe all poo's very carefully and report back to me.  He took this responsibility very seriously and I would come home to written notes on poo progress with all deposits listed for time and given a score of marks out of 10.  Much rejoicing all round when we got a 9.5, or sometimes even a 10!

Glad I am not the only mad poo-obsessed person on Champdogs.  Glad your Beagle is sorted ... !

It's a great feeling when you find that perfect food that makes the perfect poos.  For my wee boy it's naturediet fish, the food absolutely stinks but no more sore tummy and perfect poos :-)
