Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Applaws doesn't seem to be good for my boy - suggestions?

Our 14 year old lab has been on Natural Instinct for the last year and a half, but for various reasons including costs, we need to go back to a dry food. I only want to feed a good quality dry food and settled on trying Applaws and we're at the stage of being 50/50 in the changeover, which I've done very slowly, even though he has the usual cement mixer Labrador digestion, he is obviously quite a senior chap!
The problem is that his poos have become larger and softer, and def smell more unpleasant, his guts gurgle more and he's also become pretty flatulent - does anyone have any similar experiences or advice on another food to try - unless they think this is just a passing thing and will resolve itself once the changeover is complete?

Due to various health issues he can't always tell when he's having a poo, so it sometimes happens in the house - so poos getting bigger, smellier and soggier is really not good for anyone!!

I had considered trying Millies Wolfheart - but went for applaws as I was able to buy it locally, but would be happy to order something if needs be.

I had an elderly retriever who also had health issues that meant she didn't know she was going and ended up pooing in the house. She had been on Burns lamb and rice for most of her life and it suited her so didn't change. One of the major godsends at this particular time, was that her output was solid and not profuse and not particularly smelly either. Made a difficult time far better then it could have been.
