Do any of you have a dog sitter who comes to your house (for part of the time) when you are at work?  Could you give me some idea of what people charge and how to go about finding someone good?  There are lots of websites out there but without personal recommendation it is hard to know.  I think finding doggy day care for older dogs will be difficult unless it's at my house.

It's not often that we are out for a full day, but I pay for a cleaner instead of a traditional dog sitter. We walk the dogs ourselves before and after, so all I want is them let out - and for the same sort of money they get the company and I get a clean house too!

We use a dog walker occasionally who will also just do a 30 min. visit.  Fortunately i knew her before booking her as we often bump into each other whilst out dog walking. She charges £8 for just a visit or £10 to walk one dog & each extra dog is £5.  I would always go with personal recommendations rather than just book anyone.  If you say which area you live perhaps someone on here would be able to recommend someone?

Thanks for your thoughts.  I live Hampshire/Surrey borders - just might be changing the hours I work so trying to explore possibilities first!
