Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / Does dogs temp always drop before labour

Hi my dog is 64 days today and has been crying and panting heavily and very unsettled since 6am this morning for the past week there has been a clear stringy like substance coming from her vulva and today she's nesting and scratching in her birthing box but no temperature drop? Been keeping track of her temperature and it usually ranges between 37.8 - 37.4 her temp last night was 37.0 and again today 37.0 but I read it has to fall into 36s before labour is starting?? Please somebody help!!

I have never seen the temperature drop in any of mine.

Apparently it always does, we just don't always catch it!

I have never seen a drop either.  But I would err on the side of caution and would want a vet check, just because it is so difficult to spot inertia.

I gave up temp taking a long time ago.  It wasn't worth messing my girls around

Our girls always drop their temperature, but I would say it doesn't stay down that long, so if you are taking in the evening and then again in the morning you could well miss the drop.
