Topic Dog Boards / Breeding / flirtation during season

Dee came into season on 6th july. After the last season and missing over xmas
We decided to change tactics.
5 day course of antibiotics.  Then on day 8 we went to see pat hawker. She swabbed
Her and said she was close to ovulation and no infection present. So best from Monday onwards.
We took her to anglessy and had matings on monday. Wednesday and Saturday.
2 ai and 1 natural.these would have covered her to day 17.
Since we have got back she is very fruity and flirtatious with my older bitch
And trying her hardest to get my boy out of his pen.
Basically is this normal. I always thought that once ovulated and mated they would lose
Interest and not be bothered? Now I am worried we got it wrong again.  We have been waiting gor a litter for 18 month
And have a waiting list a mile long from previous seasons.

It's perfectly normal for a bitch to be flirty even after she's been mated, so don't worry about that. And it's just as well you did a natural mating or you wouldn't have been able to register the puppies. Can I ask why you did AI when a natural mating was clearly possible?
