A friend has suggested with this hot weather that Rock Sulphur in the dogs water bowl helps?
Does anyone else use or tried this & what are your thoughts?
Just trying to assist two flat bassets.

I remember years ago when I was a child my Mother used to give us sulphur tablets during long hot periods. It was supposed to stop those horrible heat spots we uses to get (No one ever seems to suffer these days and I still wonder if they were just insect bites !!). How ever it did seem to help so something of the old wives tales seemed to work. Used to make us do horrible smelly farts though !! LOL Boiled eggs !!

My rock sulphur came out of the cupboard yesterday, I'd forgotten about it. We used to take a pot of it when away at shows with the caravan, can't say if it helps cool them down but I use it anyway (can't do any harm). I don't put a piece in the water bowl as my Frenchies would make it their mission to take it out and either eat it or roll it round the floor. I put a whole lot of it into a 5 litre container and fill up the bowls from that.

Many yrs ago my mother took in a stray staffie cross, well actually he decided he wanted to move in and took quite a few beatings off the cat in the process lol. Anyway mother gave in and he moved in. He suffered dreadfully with an itchy back and would spend hours rubbing his back on the arm of the sofa, there was not a mark on him but he itched all day and night. Vet was at a loss so I bought some rock sulphur and the change was miraculous, he stopped itching after just 2 days. From then till the day he died he always had rock sulphur in his water.

This sounds interesting.  Would it help my own hot flashes and sweats, I wonder?  :)
