My groomer has decided to move to the other end of the country.
I am so disappointed as we all know how hard it is to find good groomers who are just that little bit special.
Anyhow, she has kindly offered to teach me how to clip her myself, which is a wonderful offer but I am feeling that this is a big responsibility and I am getting very nervous !
So could any of you recommend a good set of clippers ? I assume I will also need a good pair of scissors and a  better comb than I have at the moment.
Finances are a little tricky at the moment, so quality but at the lower price end would be good - if such a thing exists !
Thanks in advance.

http://www.ridgewoodpoodles.com/Grooming.htm.  This is a good link to give you some ideas.
ive tried many clippers over the years..wahl was too heavy, osters ok,...these days I have the arcomoser rechargeable for the feet and face...and the aesculaps (expensive but so worth it) are my best clippers.
I use roseline scissors, a greyhound comb, a pin brush, a soft slicker brush(for a toy you can get a cat slicker brush) ,and a flea comb to give the fur a nice fluff. You can get away with a human turbo hair drier for a toy.
ask your groomer to show you the face and feet shave...this is the hardest part to be comfortable with...the rest is much easier...I bet you will enjoy grooming your dog especially as you can divide the groom.I often do the face and feet on a different day just to give my own dogs a break and not take too much time all at once.
I also used peasridge .uk site to buy a lot of my grooming equipment.
Re the Argo moser clippers..it has an adjustable blade,so you can shave the face on a 3mm and not risk a cut or burn...then move down to a 1 mm setting once you are more proficient.
another  thing is to always groom on a table..in the early days I used a simple 1m square plastic  garden table... Now I have a large wooden table.
if you message me I can send you some pics of my setup.

Ask your groomer what she recommends?
Then perhaps try the internet (ebay, gumtree etc) to see if you can get a pair for a reasonable price.
I was gutted when our groomer gave it up to return to work but with lots of research and personal recommendation I found someone equally amazing.
I used to groom and clip Fred myself but found the time I spent on it was just far too long and it never looked as good as the groomer although it was an enjoyable and interesting experience for us both :-) good luck :-)
