I'm looking for some recommendations about places to stay near London Excel. I'm thinking about the premier inn but was wondering if anyone had any personal recommendations about other hotels in the area?

It's not till November for partners 30th birthday so have a bit of time to get it sorted. Also, where is good to eat at around there. For a nice meal , not a fast food sort of place.
