- By Romside [gb] Date 11.06.13 11:37 UTC
I have agreed to have two dogs here bitch has hadone litter and the studies 17 months old (toy breed and health checked ect ect ect)everythings above board...the ladies dog I have is unproven,now....they've been running together for two days and as yet the bitch isn't 'quite' ready but is showing a playing interest....
ive known people to 'help' the male to show him whats ok and whats not ...ive been showing him by lifting tail (and shes free standing so im not forcing her)but not quite 'standing' yet....and telling him good boy....any other encouragement I can give?obviously when I say running together I mean supervised by me and kept apart whilst im not home....
Any help would be great.x

if she's not ready yet, why would you be encouraging him?

Have to agree - she's obviously not ready yet.  If she is, I'm sure he'd be paying her a lot of attention, licking and trying mount her etc

I have never had a male and female here so not really sure how much you should keep them apart etc, but I think I would allow short bursts of contact and guage both their behaviour.
