This is quite lengthy but well worth viewing. Professor Schultz is the worlds leading authority on vaccinations and immunology  he has carried out extensive research over the last 30 years.
You may need a paper and pen to take notes.

I find it very interesting that the titre testing of bitches to determine best time to vaccinate pups is interesting.

It only stopped being used because of time lag for results and the varying rate at which maternal antibodies waned for different diseases.

What upsets me is how much research this man has done for well over 30yrs and how little things have changed regarding vaccination protocols and how vets vaccinate.
Vaccine manufacturers and Vets are  definitely putting profits before the wellbeing of animals.

Yes his research has been around sicne 1978, which interestingly seems to be teh eyar the annual boost first became the norm .

Could it have been on teh back of hsi advuice to booster a eyar after the puppy shots.

Seems he doesn't boost his own (too numerous to mention) dogs, past the first one.

Few people realise that the two first vaccines (8 & 10 weeks, or 10 & 12 weeks, or whatever) require a third vaccination a year later to complete the course. After that it's the owner's decision what they do, but unless that third injection has been given they haven't completed the initial course.

From what I have read, back then they did not have a clue how long immunity lasted so yearly boosters were a time frame just plucked from the air.

Jeangenie, yes I think all the current guidelines point to vaccinating after the antibodies from the mother have waned and a further vaccination after a year to complete the course.
But also the titre testing to ensure the vaccinations have taken and the dog is immune, as he said there are a small number of dogs that are vaccine resistant.
