Hello I wondered if anyone had used a bike trailer for their dog to go on bike rides with owner?,and if they are safe?
Unfortunately my three year old Shetland Sheepdog ellie had Patellar luxation and was operated on twice on the same leg.She now has a weakness and tends to slow right down after about threequarter hour slow walk(we don't rush her just go at her pace),and obviously cannot take her on long hikes or long walks so wondered about the bike trailers?any info from anyone who has tried them would be great !! :)

I used the bike trailers for my kids when they were very young. Brilliant fun and although they are easy to tow on the move, uphill, you know you are towing. Mine had quite big wheels like big silvercross pram wheels? Which apparently makes it easier. I used mine for quite a few summers and I can be a lazy bandit with a bike so it must be easy!lol
The bigger the kids got, the harder it was uphill.
Plenty of shade too for warm days and storage space for water and bowls, etc. and I imagine the harnesses that can be used with the car seatbelt, could be used with this too as their are seatbelts.
Yes - I have the DoggyRide. Very well made & light - will take a dog up to 50kg. Also you can change it into a sort of pushchair - very useful to take an old dog if you are in walking distance of the vet.
I've got one to give away. Sadly, my cycling days are pretty well over . Feel free to PM me
