Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / poutry neck chunks
- By colliepam Date 17.05.13 16:56 UTC
Hallo, everyone. Can I ask if any of you raw feeders feed these? And if anyone has had any problems?Ive always avoided the chunks, although my dogs have had whole necks,I thought the chunks might cause problems, being smaller, and possibly gulped.I recently ordered a mixed pack of chunks however, and the chunked necks were included,do you think it will be safe to feed them?thankyou.

I buy the Prize Choice sliced poultry necks (usually turkey judging by the size), no issues with my two (23kg and 26kg). In fact I prefer them to chicken wings, easier to tailor amount of bone per dog, and no fatty skin.

I feed them to my two - never had a problem :) They usually swallow them whole and only chew the biggest a bit :)

No problems here either and I have dogs that can despatch a large turkey neck in minutes!  I generally find that my dogs adapt to different sizes of bone really well and most things get crunched at least a bit before swallowing :)

That said I do feed all bone still frozen...

LOL - I usually stick them in the microwave for a few minutes if I've forgotten to thaw, but they're often still frozen :)

I would feed them chunked, if you're really worried then feed them frozen.
