Hi, My boxer has discovered that if he pushed hard enough with his head he can get out of his cage. My bitch had just come into season, hence him getting out. I expect now he has learned he can escape he will do it again, so can any one tell me where I can buy an extra strong cage, in UK and a sensible price? The in season bitch has been removed from the room the they are usually in so no chance of him getting to her, but even so he was still escaping.

I don't use cages but I'm wondering if you could you cable tie up the joins to make them stronger?
Hi thanks for that, I tried cable ties tho must admit they were small ones but they just snapped, did think of using the clips off dog leads but havent got any old ones, might go out and see if I could buy just the clips

The savic crates are pretty good but I would think the weak area is the door maybe a padlock or three ?
My first thought was cable ties, enough of them should hold it, or trigger clips. Or even garden wire (the sort you get for climbing plants)
I think the only safe ones for this situation (with a strong dog at least!) are the airline approved crates, which are mostly strong plastic with a metal door. They are pretty pricey but you might be able to get hold of a second hand one - ebay perhaps?
Trigger clips are the best, like the ones on horse lead ropes. Cable ties snap in a second if they get a canine inside the loop or chew at them.
Dog Health Premium Range are very good.
Thanks to all who replied, I think I will go for the clips, as it would be a bit of a pain to be undoing a paddlock each time, thanks again

I was going to say the same a Varikennel (around £100 for a Boxer)
Robust cable ties every two inches on all the joining areas of the crate (there are usually only a couple per panel) will help as well as at least two lead clips to lock the closing bolts.
To be honest I would not trust a wire crate in this situation with a strong dog like this.
